The Black Bull Hotel was established in the mid sixteenth century in the heart of Moffat in Dumfries and Galloway.

Steeped in History and amongst one of the oldest hotels in Scotland, the Black Bull Moffat provides a comfortable and lively base, servicing day trippers, tourists, business visitors and the local community alike with good food served daily, a mixture of cask and keg Ales, and a huge selection of whiskies from all over the country. Our National Bard, Robert Burns stopped here and made time to inscribe one of the windows, on display in our snug Burns Room.

The town of Moffat is extremely well positioned for exploring the surrounding hills by foot or bicycle, shopping in Edinburgh, Glasgow or Carlisle, or sampling the abundance of art and cultural sites and events throughout Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders.
